plate steel cut down to fit

The plate steel had to have 3/8 inch cut off the length of the steel to fit between the top and bottom of my frame. I held it out just enough to get a bead of weld on it.

The wire that I use in my mig is called an easy grind wire. It is supposed to be a little softer with no loss of tensil strength. I get it at Volunteer Welding supply in Nashville Tn.It has to be special ordered. And I think it is still hard to grind.

When I am cutting I use a face shield and arm length welding protection, because the steel flying off the jig saw is very hot and burns my arms.
